Some alcohol and more sweat

Overall, tonight was really good.

aolfe and I have ditched our significant others and went to a social. It was a social at the main centre here for the local zoo. My EA (educational assistant) is on the zoo board, and sold me the tickets. The social was pretty decent. A lot of young-ish people, so the music was good. I even won a silent auction prize while my roomie won two!

In Manitoba, socials are only allowed to run until 1 a.m. So, around 12:30 a.m., we made plans to meet up with some people from the social at our neighbourhood bar. My roomie and I flagged down a cab to go home for a quick breather and a chance to pee in a clean bathroom.

To the Trapper's we walked. We met up with the people from the social, and made our way to a table near the dance floor. The bar was playing really good music, and we got up to dance, which got a little cozy. For people that have never been here, the Trapper's is a small bar that really emphasizes on drinking. The dance floor is on the other side of the bar, and it's only 20' by 20' (or so). Then the bar started playing music that I would hear in my old city, in the hip hop bar that I enjoy. I started dancing with my eyes closed, and I could feel the darkness. I could see the different coloured spot lights whirling around, and smell the faint aroma of the fog machine. I could see me grinding with my university girls, or the occasional lucky fellow of the night. When I opened my eyes, those memories faded and I was back on the small, crowded dance floor. I was still having a great time with my roomie, but I also felt very sad. I haven't really missed my city since I have hooked up with my current beau.

I edged closer to the speakers and danced until closing, using the pounding music and my sweat to drown out the images. I haven't danced that hard in a really long time.

Your old city misses you too! Any chance for a visit this summer?

Heck yeah! Almost up to the "hell yeah" caliber.

Any chance that when you're in the city, you may do the "seal crawl"? Better yet, I think that the locals in your current city would enjoy if you showcased it at "trapper's". Send me a picture!
