Xmas vs. Holiday Season

So, there has been a few debates in this house over "Christmas" versus "Holiday Season". My boyfriend read a report that some schools are moving toward annihilating the word "Christmas" from their "Winter School Concerts" and such. Lots of different ideas are brought up with this controversial issue:
Should we still call it Xmas since it was always done that way?
Should the religious concept be allowed in schools?
What about people that are offended with the word/concept of "Xmas"?
Do people have to participate in the activities if they do not believe in the holiday?
Are we going overboard with being politically correct?
Does anyone want to touch this issue with a ten metre poll?

Let me know what you think.

Poll #643282 Xmas or Holiday Season?

How do you feel about getting rid of the word "Christmas"?

It's ridiculous. We have Christmas for a reason, folks!
*shrugs* Eh. Whatever. As long as I still get time off.
Good. Not everyone belongs to the majority Christian population, and we shouldn't celebrate just because it's the majority.
People are making too big of a deal out of this.
Still call it Xmas, but don't forget to celebrate other faiths as well.

First of all - I don't use the term "X-mas". I don't even know if I believe in God, but I find that word disrespectful. I always write out "Christmas".

Secondly - December 25 is Christmas Day, no matter what your faith or beliefs.

Thirdly - people are making way too big a deal out of this. Believe what you believe and allow others to do the same.

Hope you had a Merry one. And have a good night. Sounds like it'll be fun.

My answer
I can state I was the 1 who picked celebrate other faiths as well, just because I find other cultures interesting, and I would love to celebrate other ways too!
Oh. I wasn't the only one, I was a little while ago...
Anyways, that's my thought.
