Tired, am I.

School is in back full swing. Before I break it down, I would like to say that my humble high school will now be celebrating "Talk Like A Pirate" Day on Tuesday. Yay for Student Council and one overzealous teacher. (If you haven't figured that out, I was refering to me.)

8:45 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. English Language Arts, Literary Focus, Senior 3

I've got them talking about the concept of "heaven". What is their definition of it. Do you believe in it? We are currently watching "What Dreams May Come" (Robin Williams and Cuba Gooding Jr. are the main actors) That movie is so beautiful, it makes me choked up. Then we will do a bit of William Blake's works of "make a hell out of heaven and a heaven out of hell". You know, the fact that you get to do whatever you want and have PASSION in Hell really makes it Heaven. Then, they are to "create". One written work. One visual. And then I'll see where I want to next direct this hippie class of mine.

9:50 - 11:00 a.m. Introduction to Preschool, Senior 2

Currently discussing the difference of being a parent (egg and sperm) and parenting (caring and nurturing). Mechanical babies won't start until November. Plan to watch quite a few movies in this class.

11:00 a.m. - 12:10 Prep time.

Just enough time to photocopy, talk to resource teachers/counsellors, and then get food.

12:10 - 1:15 p.m. Lunch

Consisting of a large bowl of tomato soup lately, crackers, bit of chatter, back in class to organize and plan for tomorrow.

1:15 - 2:25 p.m. English Language Arts, Senior 2

Don't have enough "The Chrysalids" books to go around, so I found 8 used copies off of Amazon.ca which I will be ordering this Friday (pay day). In the meanwhile, we have been watching the movie "On The Beach". Old fiction movie on how Australia copes with the rest of the world being destroyed from nuclear war.

2:25 - 3:30 p.m. English Language Arts, Senior 1

FOR THE LOVE OF ANY DEITY OR DEITIES!!! Grade 9's are so much bloody work! Trying to get through the very little I expect out of them each day is amazingly hard. Like dealing with 25 children hopped up on sugar. Take a deep breath, and remind myself that I have Paxil waiting for me at home.

3:30 - now (4:39) Home time???

Sitting at my desk, letting my brain resolidify. I will be reviewing my lessons for tomorrow, to make sure I am ready. Then I am going to start marking (which I haven't done yet) and get ready for "Meet the Teacher" at 7 p.m. I will make it home before 9 p.m.

Normally, I feed the child, do stuff with him until 6 p.m., watch "Law and Order: SVU", talk with my boyfriend, send kid to bed, and drool until 10 p.m. Then I go to bed. I have to get into the routine of marking every night, for I refuse to have the stress and drama I had last year.

Sounds like you're being all "responsible". Boo.

I would never spend my days off planning for my days on. NEVER.

Your hippy class sounds fun so far! I think I'm going to go look for a copy of What Dreams may Come now. I really loved that movie. Yep yep. I started reading On the Beach once. .. . . but I don't know where it went. Did you steal my book and use your voodoo to turn it into a movie? I think you did.

That's right. You have figured me out. I'm going to get you, and your little dog too.
