13 more class days until break

Alrighty then. We got internet hooked back up, so I thought I would try to do something remotely productive.

Bills were falling a bit behind. Internet got cut off. 'Nuff said.

And D still hasn't gotten his gift. But it's finally ready and in the mail!

This winter has been worse than most. First, it's colder. Damn colder. Such as, coldest in 15 years??? Second, school is dragging on. My students have no motivation to do anything, and neither do I. Third, people won't stop dying. I kid you not.

Old student of my high school found dead on street, from "natural" causes of a weak heart (someone roughed him up and left him outside?). Another person got shot (knock, knock. Who's there? Bam. Yay for random violence). There has been a few more shootings (gangs collecting on debts exceeding 20 grand), but no other deaths with firearms. Suicide of step-son of head secretary at the high school (he was moved from my town to live with his grandparents to get him out of "the wrong crowd"). Motor vehicle accident down south with a son of another staff member. And someone who fell through some ice.

That is what I can ramble off quickly in the past month. If I thought about it, I'm sure there are more. Depressing, no?

Oh, and my son (step-son) confessed to stealing some games from a pawn shop today. He's 4. Later in the evening, when he was grounded, he stated that he wanted his Mom.

"I'm right here."

"No, my OTHER Mom."

Actually, that didn't hurt. I think it would hurt if he said that when we wasn't being punished.

And Xmas is coming. Full steam ahead. Besides going to see my Momma and Booger on the East Coast, and getting 2 weeks off of work, I don't think I would be that cheery right now.

Everything just sounds so cheery, I wish things were going better for you.

When you come, Mum and I worked out a day where I take you to do whatever you want in Halifax and just relax. I'm looking forward to you and the fam coming out, just over two weeks. Hopefully you can get some downtime and just take it easy while you're here, sounds like you need it.

Oh, and what do you want for Christmas anyway?

A male prostitute. Okay, not really. Only a little bit.

I want some wort of pampering thing. Like getting my legs waxed. Or a manicure with fake nails. Or a pedicure. Maybe a tarot card reading?

Or, a whole wack of gift cards.

Whatever it is, it has to be small and not too heavy. That's why the prostitute is out. Same with the pool boy.

Sounds like it's not all that cheery up in your "little northern town". Hope things get better for you soon. I'm sure your trip to your mom's will be a lot of fun. I've never been out east. Well, no further than Toronto. Hope your holidays get happier. Miss you.
