Another night at the palace

*enter Barenaked Ladies* Hellooooooooooooooooo City, yeah... Another night at the palace, and my mock turtleneck just reeks. Oh ooooh, oh ohhhhhhh.

Okay, I'm not listening to Barenaked Ladies, but the lyrics are eerily relevant. My plane from the reserve landed at 7:30 p.m. last night. Yeppers, Booger and her man picked me up, I had a few coolers with pizza (feta cheese and tomato), and went to sleep. Today, Booger and I checked out a few stores and did some Xmas shopping. Man, is my credit card going to be screaming soon.

To backtrack, Friday at the reserve was great! First off, it's an unspoken custom that the student teacher buys his or her co-operating teacher a gift for sharing wisdom, guidance, or just putting up with crap. I bought my teacher a coffe kit that included 4 huge mugs, a coffee container, and a coffee spoon. Well, my co-operating teacher bought me a gift as well! A simple stone necklace. I was stunned. Added to that, the staff bought a going away / good luck cake at lunch. Wow. That has never happened to me before. Such a community up there... I have been playing with the idea of applying there next year for a teaching job....

At any rate, my Mother and my Step-Father are flying in the City tonight just after 10 p.m. Skinner Boy is driving in after one of his jobs and he'll be here after midnight. And all of us are staying in Booger's one-room apartment. Considering that my first set of parents haven't met Skinner Boy, and he doesn't know the "coziness" of the situation, this should be interesting. *grins* Oh, how I love a smattering of chaos here and there.

Tonight, we'll see how much Skinner Boy and I have changed. Five weeks doesn't sound like a lot of time to be separated, but you never know. For starters, he told me about a hair cut he got, and it sounds vaguely similar to a mullet. As well, I have been thinking and evaluating. And, as more lyrics snap into place, there is a possible situation that "reeks" and is as suffocating as a dirty "mock turtleneck", but I don't feel like elaborating on that quite yet.

What tonight holds, only time will tell.

Can't go wrong there. Hey, at least he isn't wearing bellbottoms that vaguely resemble a full skirt!
